Diigo

I currently use Internet Explorer to access the internet.  For a previous class we used Diigo and I have been using the Diigolet ever since.  A browser add on is something that is usually interfaced with your browser to allow more functionality for the user.  Currently the only add on that I am using is Diigo, I have not really been interested in browsing add-ons in the past.  I do have two gadgets running on my desktop at all times and that would be a weather display and a clock.

As for ISTE Standards I feel you are looking at Number three: Model Digital Age work and learning

As you can see from the four subsections of ISTE standard three using Social Bookmarking would apply to all of these in one aspect or another.

a. Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations.
b. Collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation.

c. Communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital age media and formats.
d. Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning.

All four of the above referenced standard could be meet by utilizing a tool such as Diigo.  This would allow students access to what they are researching from multiple places and would allow parents to participate by being apart of the community and seeing what their child is working on.
